Lear West is a preferred erector of SISCORP and USSI pre-engineered metal buildings specific to the oil and natural gas industry. These buildings are very complex and incorporate overhead cranes, numerous framed openings for piping and ductwork, composite wall systems with mineral wool, batten insulation and full-height liner panels.

What Goes Into One

More than a shell and a roof

Gas industry buildings carry cranes, piping, ductwork and full insulated wall assemblies. Every one of those systems has to be erected in the right order.

Overhead Cranes

Buildings erected to carry overhead crane systems — runway beams and supporting steel set to tolerance so the crane runs true from day one.

Framed Openings

Numerous framed openings for piping, ductwork, louvers and equipment access — laid out and framed to match the mechanical drawings.

Composite Wall Systems

Composite wall assemblies built up correctly, layer by layer, so the building performs the way it was engineered to.

Mineral Wool & Batten Insulation

Mineral wool and batten insulation installed as part of the wall system — a detail that gets skipped by crews who have not built these before.

Full-Height Liner Panels

Full-height liner panels finished clean and straight, giving the interior a durable, serviceable surface floor to eave.

How We Build

Sequenced so the schedule holds.

Metal building erection lives or dies on sequence. We plan the receiving, staging and erection order around the rest of the pad so the building goes up without stalling the trades behind us.

Design-Assist & Preconstruction

We review the building package, the foundation and the site with the general contractor before steel arrives, so nothing waits on a surprise.

Receive & Stage

Components are received, checked against the package and staged in erection sequence — the difference between a smooth week and a lost one.

Erect the Frame

Primary and secondary steel goes up plumb and true, with crane picks planned around the other trades already working the pad.

04

Sheet, Insulate & Close In

Composite walls, mineral wool and batten insulation, liner panels, roof, trim and accessories — closed in and turned over complete.
